IT Support that fits your business

IRQ offers IT support that fits your business, not the other way around. You didn’t got to law school, dental school or spend years becoming a CPA to spend your time on troubleshooting hardware (computers, printers, etc.) or software (websites, e-mail, operating systems, customized tools, etc).

But as you know from experience, when technology stops working – so do you. A malfunctioning computer system isn’t just annoying, it’s a delayed meeting, a rescheduled client or a missed deadline.

Most small businesses feel stuck between two bad options when it comes to computer support:

Option 1: Hire a Managed Services Firm. They offer robust support, but you’re just an account number. You’ll call or e-mail them and all you’ll get is a ticket number and promise to contact you “shortly”. For each service call, you’ll likely get a different person with a different skillset who will probably take a lot of time (multiple visits) to figure out a system he/she has never seen before. They’ll then spend more time calling someone else for instructions on how to fix the problem. The Managed IT Firm will also require you to sign a multiple year contract to get the best price for a bundle of services that you probably don’t need, happily charging you a monthly fee regardless of the work they perform.

Option 2: Use “a guy you know” who thinks he knows what he’s doing. Maybe it’s a friends nephew or a general handyman who “knows computers”. Best thing about this option is that they’re really inexpensive. BUT, do they understand security and government regulations? Do they know HIPAA compliance isn’t optional? Do they know legal & financial information must be kept secure? Do they keep normal business hours?

There is a third option, one designed specifically to support a small number of professionals – the “right-sized” IT partner.

IRQ Solutions LLC provides IT services to small professional businesses. IRQ does not have a sales team or a customer relations department. When you call or e-mail IRQ during normal business hours (10AM – 6PM Monday to Friday) you’ll get a real person, not an automated answering machine or an auto-reply email. When IRQ accepts the task, you know the task will get completed in a timely fashion. For example, No waiting a week for a new monitor to get installed when it was delivered to your office 5 days ago.

This structure isn’t a limitation, it’s to your advantage. It means limited paperwork, a simple service queue and billing system administered via e-mail and – once a relationship is established – a direct line to an experienced & knowledgable person who can fix problems quickly.

Why this model works better for small professional clients (CPA’s, Dentists, Doctors & Lawyers):

  1. Compliance without confusion. Client data is sensitive. For health care professionals HIPAA is a law that cannot be violated. For lawyers and accountants, client data must be protected (i.e encrypted at rest). Large IT firms treat this obligation as a technical checklist. IRQ treats this as foundation to the firms reputation. IRQ makes sure its clients follow best practices when it comes to data security.
  2. Pay for What You Need, when you need it. Cash flow matters. You shouldn’t lock yourself into a longterm contract for “peace of mind”, when you only need support 6 times a year. IRQ is flexible and the only long term contract me suggest you sign is for one of our domain plans (WordPress Website, E-mail and IP Phone system). The first few months will have substantial hourly billing as we work together to set up a baseline. After the initial setup, IRQ is on call during normal business hours to fix any problems that pop-up. No long term contracts, no penalties for cancelling early.
  3. Speed that Manages IT cannot match. When a small firm calls a large IT firm, they’re a low priority. When you call IRQ, you’re probably my most important call of the day. If you call IRQ at 10AM on Monday, in most cases we’ll be at your office before 11AM because IRQ limits our service area to 60 miles from Rochester NY. Not the standard automated email “we’ll get back to you in 24 hours” with a ticket number.

No upsell pressure and no preference or “preferred partner”. IRQ believes in Open Source software and is opposed to commercial spyware (e.g Windows 11). Therefore, I encourage clients to consider moving to MacOS or Linux (as IRQ considers them superior at this time) but is happy to support Windows 11. (All other Windows are basically dead as of October 2025).

IRQ’s goal is to provide professionals with the IT support they need a nothing more. IRQ strives to make IT that works securely and reliably. In other words, you’ll only notice when it’s not working – and you’ll call use to fix it fast. So, if you’re tired of being pressured into buying services that you probably don’t need, use out contact form to schedule a brief conversation. I offer a free, no-obligation one hour review of your current setup. Where we can discuss what your actual needs are and if my support model is a better fit than what you’re currently using.
